Frequently asked questions
Lifting Gear
Weightlifting belts, knee sleeves and thumb tape for heavy days and mixed conditioning.
What to add, and when
Most athletes get here in the same order. Thumb tape when hook grip starts tearing skin. Knee sleeves when squat volume climbs. A belt when the loads are genuinely heavy relative to your bodyweight. Buying earlier than that tends to build reliance rather than capacity.
Two belts
X-Prime is the lighter, more flexible one. 5 inches at the back tapering to 4 at the sides with an EVA foam core, built for higher-rep work. Venta is the more supportive hybrid, a 4 inch profile with a nylon-reinforced shell and a self-locking buckle, and its width meets IWF and IPF standards.
Sleeves and tape
Venta knee sleeves are 7mm neoprene with anti-slip silicone strips, built to stay on for a full session rather than a single set. Thumb tape takes the friction of repeated hook grip work through cleans and snatches, so you hold the position for more reps.
